Anthony Banks is Guest Speaker at University of Illinois Office of Technology Management’s Share the Vision 2017

Anthony Banks, one of the co-founders and the vice president of NeuroLux, Inc., will deliver a talk on innovative discovery tools for medical research as one of the guest speakers for Share the Vision 2017 on September 21, 2017, at the EnterpriseWorks Startup Incubator. The event is a startup showcase hosted by the Office of Technology Management and the University of Illinois Research Park.

Banks and other speakers will talk about technologies at the intersection of engineering and medicine. In particular, he and five faculty speakers will focus on targeted bio tools and real-time diagnostics. Banks’ session entitled “NeuroLux, Innovative Discovery Tools for Medical Research” will address how the start-up provides breakthrough technologies in neuroscience, pharmacology, and electrophysiology with ultra-miniaturized wireless, battery-free devices on a versatile hardware platform.

Banks has almost 30 years of academic research with direct hands-on efforts in advanced technology and instrumentation development. His experience includes transferring academic innovations to companies, both large (e.g., Loreal, Medtronic, Reebok and others) and small (MC10, Semprius, CoolEdge Lighting and others) for scalable commercial product manufacturing. He also is co-inventor on several patents, a private research consultant, and one of the first members of the Center of Bio-integrated Electronics (CBIE) at the Simpson Querrey Institute (SQI) for BioNanotechnology.
